Track of the Day: “Warning Signs (Dirty Lover)” by Thrift

THRIFT is duo Anna Carmela and Mark Malagise who call their brand of music “dirty disco”. They are originally from Pittsburgh, PA but currently reside in sunny and snowless L.A.  Legendary Billboard editor and music journalist, Chuck Taylor, comments: “Thrift’s debut EP offers a sonic inferno opus packed with passion, as electrifying as a key jammed in a socket—and ultimately, an adept rock’n’roll paean.” THRIFT: Facebook | Twitter | Website Continue reading Track of the Day: “Warning Signs (Dirty Lover)” by Thrift

Track of the Day: “Home” by Jack Savoretti

There is something so extremely satisfying about the vocals of JACK SAVORETTI. I don’t think he could sing band if he tried and I don’t think he could write a bad song either. As I have said before, he is quickly becoming one of my favorite artists to listen to and as he continues to release new songs from his forth coming album WRITTEN IN SCARS (out February 9th) my admiration for him continues to grow. Lend your ear and eyes to “Home” by Jack. It’s such a great song about not giving up and to keep fighting the good fight. … Continue reading Track of the Day: “Home” by Jack Savoretti

When the most wonderful time of the year becomes the most blunder-ful, the only way to get through it is with fat riffs, fast beats and barely interpretable lyrics.” You can download “I’ll Be … Continue reading Track of the Day: “I’ll Be Home(less) for Christmas” by 8 Bit Love

Track of the Day: “Legendary Lovers” by 26

I am a bit biased, but 26‘s cover of KATY PERRY‘s “Legendary Lovers” is absolutely wonderful. Even if I am biased, I prefer the cover by 26 over the original. The song sounds meaningful and full of emotion their way and while I listen to Katy’s version, I feel as if it’s a series of bad puns sung by 16 year old. That’s just my opinion. As you can see below everyone’s ear hears things differently. It’s what makes music fantastic and what makes covering a song even more fantastic. Especially when the cover makes you give the original song a … Continue reading Track of the Day: “Legendary Lovers” by 26
