Track of the Day: “Let Her Go” by Scars on 45

NETTWERK is celebrating 30 years with a little help from their friends, their current artists covering artists in their 30 year history with the album “FROM COVER to COVER: 30 YEARS at NETTWERK“. We must say it’s pretty dang brilliant! One of the covers we absolutely love is SCARS ON 45 covering PASSENGER‘s “Let Her Go.” PASSENGER‘s original version is already so emotional we were at first a little skeptical those lovely lads and lass of SCARS ON 45 could do it any justice. Our minds were silenced immediately. Danny and Aimee’s voices are absolutely stunning on this song. It becomes … Continue reading Track of the Day: “Let Her Go” by Scars on 45

COVER OF THE WEEK: “Let it Ride” by Gareth Asher

SONG: “Let it Ride” ORIGINAL ARTIST: RYAN ADAMS COVER ARTIST: GARETH ASHER This is actually one of my favorite songs by RYAN ADAMS and after hearing the butchering of “Stars Go Blue” by country artist, TIM McGRAW, I am always skeptical of hearing any Ryan song covered. Ryan brings so much emotion and strength to his songs, but knowing GARETH ASHER, I knew this cover would not suck. Gareth never betrays the power of the original song but adds to it with his voice and emotion. Do you like Gareth’s cover of “Let it Ride”? Let us know below. RYAN ADAMS: Facebook … Continue reading COVER OF THE WEEK: “Let it Ride” by Gareth Asher

Track of the Day: “Legendary Lovers” by 26

I am a bit biased, but 26‘s cover of KATY PERRY‘s “Legendary Lovers” is absolutely wonderful. Even if I am biased, I prefer the cover by 26 over the original. The song sounds meaningful and full of emotion their way and while I listen to Katy’s version, I feel as if it’s a series of bad puns sung by 16 year old. That’s just my opinion. As you can see below everyone’s ear hears things differently. It’s what makes music fantastic and what makes covering a song even more fantastic. Especially when the cover makes you give the original song a … Continue reading Track of the Day: “Legendary Lovers” by 26

NEWS: Blowsight Releases New Single “Swallow” Today

BLOWSIGHT releases their cover of “Swallow” by Germany’s OOMPH! on iTunes, Amazon. BLOWSIGHT recorded the song earlier this year while recording their upcoming fourth studio album. “Our tour with Oomph! was a great success, and we wanted to thank the band for taking us out on the road, so I chose one of my favorite songs by them, we recorded it while adding a few Blowsight-esque finishing touches and chose to release it as soon as possible, as opposed to waiting for the new album to be released” states singer/guitarist Nick Red. ”As far as the new album goes, it’s coming along nicely … Continue reading NEWS: Blowsight Releases New Single “Swallow” Today
