Justified Episode Recap: The Trash and the Snake

Wow this is one of the best episodes in possibly the series. It is one of those episodes that I want everyone I know to watch so we can discuss.  It is smart, funny and intelligently brings back characters from previous seasons without seeming gimmicky. The episode begins with Boyd and Ava together and it seems that Ava is all in.  Boyd has an appointment with Duffy so leaves Ava, who promptly meets Raylan in the stairway, where she asks him what it feels like to have someone’s life in his hands.  She heads back to the hotel room and is surprised … Continue reading Justified Episode Recap: The Trash and the Snake

Eargasm of the Week: “By the Ocean” by Dusty Boots

Sydney’s DUSTY BOOTS is Jonny Dustow, an Australian teacher, adventurer, and musician and his song light and airy song by life “By the Ocean” is an autobiographical reflection about the life of adventure he shares with his wife as REBEL ON A RAINBOW. That is the main reason “By the Ocean” is our eargasm of the week. It’s winter here in the States and this song has us longing for the seaside and brings the summer sun just into our glimpse in the long distant horizon. DUSTY BOOTS manages to capture that first time feeling of seeing the ocean and feeling … Continue reading Eargasm of the Week: “By the Ocean” by Dusty Boots

Justified Episode Recap: Noblesse Oblige

Another incredible episode begins with Ava and Boyd where we last saw them, in the bar, now drunk, reminiscing about their past.  Ava gets paged to meet Raylan and shows up drunk but she chooses a bad time since Vasquez and Rachel are there to stress that Ava needs to actually provide some information on Boyd.  Meanwhile a hungover Boyd is trying to enjoy a greasy hamburger when Ty Walker comes in and formally meets Boyd.  The exchange is hilarious, with Boyd telling Walker “Damn, son, you like to talk as much as I do.”  But since Walker now knows … Continue reading Justified Episode Recap: Noblesse Oblige

Track of the Day: “Hammers See Nails” by Maybe the Moon

MAYBE THE MOON has released their second single “Hammers See Nails” a song where “the main character fixates on the negative aspects of every person and situation he encounters. He’s in an endless war between his better judgment and his complete inability to stop lashing out at those around him. He’s constantly haunted by the little voice in his head that keeps repeating a sentiment he’ll never be able to embody, “Your tongue forgot/Words are wings for thoughts/Details aren’t the main attraction.” When listening to the song, you can hear/feel that the music is the main character’s judgement and mind while Karmen’s voice … Continue reading Track of the Day: “Hammers See Nails” by Maybe the Moon

Eargasm of the Week: “Come People” by Xavier Rudd & the United Nations

XAVIER RUDD is back but instead of just him, he’s back with a full band aptly called THE UNITED NATIONS. XAVIER RUDD & THE UNITED NATIONS is of course Xavier and BOBBY ALU (who recently toured with Xavier on drums), YESHE (who has opened for Xavier), ALICIA MELLOR, GEORGIA COROWA, CHRIS LANE from OKA, PETER HUNTER of KOOII, UNCLE TIO (who recently toured Xavier on bass), and UNCLE EDDIE. The talented musicians who have joined him are from around the world and though a full band, it truly is a “one person” music force and voice: “a band with a strong message of all … Continue reading Eargasm of the Week: “Come People” by Xavier Rudd & the United Nations

Track of the Day: “Let Her Go” by Scars on 45

NETTWERK is celebrating 30 years with a little help from their friends, their current artists covering artists in their 30 year history with the album “FROM COVER to COVER: 30 YEARS at NETTWERK“. We must say it’s pretty dang brilliant! One of the covers we absolutely love is SCARS ON 45 covering PASSENGER‘s “Let Her Go.” PASSENGER‘s original version is already so emotional we were at first a little skeptical those lovely lads and lass of SCARS ON 45 could do it any justice. Our minds were silenced immediately. Danny and Aimee’s voices are absolutely stunning on this song. It becomes … Continue reading Track of the Day: “Let Her Go” by Scars on 45
