WATCH: Hiding Place for Hearts by Our Lady Peace

Premiering first on Out Magazine, Canada’s Our Lady Peace gives the world a beautiful video for their song “Hiding Place for Hearts”. Off of their newly released SOMETHINGNESS Vol One, this is the 2nd video to star Matt Santoro as an Uber driver. The 1st was “Drop Me in the Water” (you can watch it below). Each song accompanies the story that is happening in the car as he picks up his passengers.

With “Hiding Place for Hearts”, the story is simple: a drag queen letting down her guard by removing her facade in front of a stranger.

As a fan and someone who respects drag queens and praises them for their creative work, the quiet reflective glances in the mirror or while the other may not be looking of each character speaks volumes.

Vocalist Raine Maida said, “‘Hiding Place For Hearts’ speaks directly to the idea of searching for that safe place where you won’t be judged.”

We all need to feel this safe and this respected in the world. Some never find it and some find that safety for a moment in the car of a stranger. The only judgement we give the video is that it’s beautiful.
